No! I never thought of growing sunflowers Love sunflower seeds so thank you I will have to get some seeds now!
Question though, how do you get the seeds out of the shell? I've accidentally bought the ones in the shells before and they were impossible to get out.

Been over to Lottie earlier and everything is coming along nicely, potatoes seem to have new tops springing up daily, onions are getting fatter, garlic is now tall and healthy looking, lettuce coming through in a row and the spring onions are just starting to show through the soil. Carrots have started to appear in their fleece covered troughs by the dozen, strawberries spreading in the container and more flowers on them, not sure the poor pumpkins are going to make it thanks to slugs but fingers crossed one will survive.
Had to re grow courgettes as the slugs scoffed them a while ago, now got under an empty plastic bottle and the first true leaves are growing!
Proud to say the first pea has emerged under the wigwam today!

Mr D has been working hard on the shed (it's huge 8x6) over the last few weekends and today the frame was put in place. He also built a work bench out of pallets to do his sawing and stuff.
Potatoes are just starting to get buds on them so should be ready to flower in a few weeks! Replaced courgettes are coming on great as are the lettuce and spring onions. Five tomato plants are steadily growing up towards the canes in their new pots, strawberries are covered in flowers and a few small green berries are appearing. Garlic is now as tall as the onions and the onions are fattening up. Still only one pea plant growing so no idea what's going on with them?!
Leeks are looking good indoors and the peppers are doing well. Must do another pumpkin as the two outside are only producing male flowers, so no pumpkins. Something has eaten every single carrot so need to get more seeds
Still, life is good and loving the Lottie

Today we dug up the Arron Pilots, got 12lbs of beautiful potatoes!! It was magic watching them appear as we turned the soil over, I was like a child sifting through the soil.
We've also had quite a few lettuce, strawberries and the first of the salad onions and reddish.
The shed is almost completed and it's a great size, very light and airy as half the roof is clear panels.

We had a frame for a greenhouse put onto the plot last night, it's like a giant Meccano set!
New or 'pre-owned'?
I recently put up a second-hand greenhouse, had to stop half way through as a load of the bolts wrung-off. The lesson learned is Old greenhouse= New bolts

It's pre owned, we already agreed new bolts, just in case it comes crashing down on my head the glass and other fixings appeared today! It's umm rather larger than we first thought, which is great! We also think a few of the bottom parts have asbestos so they need to be replaced before we start piecing it together.
