That sounds like the right thing to do JM. Taking control and sorting it out before it's forced on you.

Absolutely right - though its a helluva shift especially for someone like you, jansman. What would the downshift be? Fewer hours, or different work?diamond lil wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 5:11 pm That sounds like the right thing to do JM. Taking control and sorting it out before it's forced on you.
Excuse me ... I had a sudden image of you doing butchering and animal care videos on youtube, but having to have Mrs jansman write all the scripts

In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
Robert Frost.
Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.
Me.

It might be that you have a lot more control over your working environment all round, jansman, best of luck with it all, seriously.

Bought some compost and a big tub to plant on my rhubarb. I’m determined to get it growing properly. Bought some herbs too. A small start on my dream of a herbal medicine garden. Not a great gardener but at least my soapwort is still alive.

Relatives visiting first time in a couple of years...... last panic dusting occurring here, wish me luck.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Waiting for delivery of a spin dryer, sick of the washing machine. It chunters on for literally hours and then plays a stupid wee tune then you find the clothes sopping wet and have to spin again.... if I want something to play me a tune then I'll put on the wireless tyvm. Bloody contraption
Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9
Lil, mine's doing that occasionally, when I have a heavy piece of clothing. It's not nice to have to put a wet, heavy piece of clothing on the clothesline and *then* wring it out!
However ... I'm trying to make sure I've got my preps as sorted, and as available, as possible - I'm really bad for pushing a bit in here and there, and then forgetting where it is. No more! Not with the prospect of this winter coming up, plus trying to make the best of the summer, because who knows, frankly?
So, storing like with like (fruit pie filling, pickled onions, cartons of tea, AA batteries, shampoo, silver coins from Silver Trader To The North, all sorts of things). Annoyingly, a couple of bottles of oil that are too old to use for food quality - a year past their best before date, which means they're getting on to be rancid (I don't have a good sense of smell) I'd put them in metal coffee tins, but the lids aren't secure. So I've re-secured them in a plastic bottle that had contained disinfectant. Win-win: safe storage, tidier, and more visible once I open a cupboard. Plus 4 pots of metal to go for recycling. Big supermarket delivery coming tomorrow, I need all the space I can get

ordered 7 ex army wool blankets off evil bay, ready for this winter, not that we will get cold with the log burners but better to have them and not need them then need them and not have them i think, plus they can be used on the patio in the early hours when sitting outside(thats what i told the wife there for lol)
Remember the rule of the 7 P's, proper planning and prepperation prevents piss poor performance...
