Re: Money, money money
thats a good idea. i think any waterproof container that would not rot out would do, although alot of preppers store silver in plastic pipe because its easy to get and use. one suggestion, bury it somewhere that will not look out of place when dug over such as a border in the garden and place something like a memorably coloured flower on or near it.Iceplanmax wrote:I have been thinking of doing this. How about storing cash outside just in case you did get burgled. Anyone any good ideas how to do this? I have thought about various hiding places but not sure what to do.
good luck and good prepping.
Re: Money, money money
I read a book once
the people who lived in a house decied to do it up and took down an old curtain rail when they took it down something made a sliding sound inside the rail so they took one end off and tiped it up and some gold coins rolled out
having never been burgled would this be a good place to hide your cash

A hidden doortop stash looks pretty easy to make and should hide small valuables from a quick search.junmist wrote:having never been burgled would this be a good place to hide your cash

I got some of these to have a try at this a while back, I use them for other stashes now because the doors aren't that thick

good idea for more mundane shtf situations, like flood or illness, or job loss. In a social meltdown situation then bartering batteries, ciggies, medicines, and toilet paper would be more common me thinks.

Just moved into our new house so had a re 'jig' of the preps - €165
Loving the money stash...
So, just to re ignite the debate; In our cellar we have a safety deposit box, every so often I stick the odd €5/10 note in and my mind set is that if TSHTF and I need to use cash to buy goods it's there. Daft I know, slightly paranoid... What do you think soldier A, serving in Cyprus, on behalf of our government...

Re: Money, money money
There's always a good feeling to be had from stashing anything useful.
Tools, food, clothes, seeds, fuels, booze, gold coins, cash, etc.
As a Prepper I feel it's a good policy to stash a bit of everything and everything in moderation.
Trying to cover all bases.
I am sure most (of us) Preppers would be ok if the banks were shut for 14 days + too.
