Spot on that ! If I pick that deal up today it will sort out the stock for Winter. Thanks.
Do you guys actually USE that quantity of AA cells? Cripes.
I've got kids  from digital cameras to motorised toys to bike lights to torches smoke alarms ;)
What about buying rechargeables? Surely cheaper in the long run, not to mention environmentally? Or is that my automatic assumption coming into play?

Oh I have a box full of those too, problem is the camera and some toys / gadgets don't like the 1.2v over a proper aa @1.5v digital toy camera just says nope ... Petzl head torch isn't a fan either

I am the same as Yorkshire Andy. Recharge and disposable too. I like the recharge, but come a Winter ( particularly) emergency, there may not be a way to recharge. Solar won’t work, and power packs will be for phones and particularly more lighting. If the power is off, there are several ways forward. That’s my take anyway. ;)

Found some little power banks in home bargains for 99p only good for micro usb or lightning but still 99p rechargeable too the little usb to micro is worth the price...
Power bank for a quid !!!!! I'm on me way. What can you buy for a quid?
Only ones my place had were 9.99 for either 1x 10,000mAh or 2x 4,000mAh
What do you get for your quid?

Sorted my weather apps on my phone in order of how much detail they give you for rain.
Weather Channel and Weather Radar are my top two, also Weather Underground and Weatherbug. I think one of them had a glitch that made me very nervous. For a while it said 16mm in one hour! I have a temporary bit of felt where my chimney was. And there's a brick on it I'm scared will fly off and land on someone's head. I'll be glad when it's all over. Was a storm last night at 2am.

Crikey. Y_A was right. SOME Home bargain have got discontinued stock of Powerbanks for 99p
They're only 1,500mAh but come with either iphone or micro(?) USB sockets.
Now.... 1,500mAh is barely a good set of 3 AAA cells, but they may be worth it just for bits.

Andy,
Can you crack one open or do some measuring.....
I'm guessing 3 or 4 aaa rechargeables in there and probably some charge control circuit? Maybe a boost converter to get them to make 5V? Can you see what charge current they can put out? upload the spec sheet?

Tempted. But at 1/10th the price of something 7 times better, they are borderline.
I just wonder if there's anything else can be done with them? Pair them with those poundland head lamps?
Often the whole 'making it work as USB' thing either uses dreadfully wasteful resistance circuits or coolio buck/boost converters. Since I discovered those converters, I fell in love with them.

Pity they don;t have usb c
