The G-Shock is tough solar and radio controlled and love it, the knife is a Belgium Army Knife 1954 made by us Brits for them brand new, just been stored for years cost £5.99 again love it , but do rotate watches and knives now and again..

I don't use the torch much but it appears to hold a charge for ages before needing a recharge ( there is a thread on it on here somewhere) http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00Q ... =8-2-fkmr2

Army can opener next to the pry bar thingy and Gerber Dime and pill holder , paracord just because...

I paid quite a bit for the clips from the states, as the cheaper ones off fleabay tended to come open easily.........

Oh and I have a swisscard in my jacket..........http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000 ... =8-1-fkmr2
I like that watch!

Is there an echo in here?

Think I need to buy a G-Shock at some point.

Also, where did you get the knife? I love the sound of it, and for the price I want in! I've got a WW2 German hip flask that my friend gave me as a gift, it's one of my favourite possessions and I've got it in my BOB/GoBag. That knife would go nicely with it!

On another note, I bought this to go into my work bag - my new EDC water bottle. Paid £3.68 for it on eBay, but I think it's worth it even if the lid starts to leak. Being stainless steel it's apparently good for boiling water or whatever. It's the smallest one I could get, making it very light and compact, I think it's about 350ml.

If it does start to leak eBay sellers are obliged to refund you within 12 months.

Alas the place I bought it no longer has any but it can be had at other places , just be careful there are some cheap knock offs about, will have a look and report back..........

or cheaper still £4.95 http://www.endicotts.co.uk/content/belg ... nife-black
Looks good, thanks bud! I've bookmarked them but I'm reluctant to pay the postage, think I'll wait till I need a few more bits and bobs and aim for the £50 free postage. :D

We've all got our preferences but for me there are better and smaller knives out there. I've still got a couple, the Navy issued them too. I think I've posted on here somewhere that I was fortunate enough to have one on me when I got the end of my finger caught in a hedge cutter and I used the marlin spike to extract said finger. Its a decent enough blade but it doesn't have a pointy end so loses marks for me there. I got mine for free so price wasn't an issue and I'm not 'dissing' them, I just think there are more useful blades out there, horses for courses though.

There are always better knives I suppose. I just like ex-army stuff and this looks really nice.

I think I mentioned it before but there is a lad on YouTube who matches up his watch with his carry blade and various other EDC things. I think he's called EDC Gunner. He where's a pocket watch when he carries his Opinel, Swiss Army Knife when wearing a swiss watch (I think it was an Oris), etc. He looks dapper! I like that idea.

I've been intending on buying one of those Seiko army watches for a long time, I'm not sure if I'd ever get around to it, but I bet this knife would look cool with it!

Yep it is a bit on the heavy side (but then so am I) :D , but I do have lighter knives that I rotate in, its quite sheepy friendly as well , not tacticool at all and mentioning its from 1954 gets people interested more than worried ... I tried doing the spyderco route and ended up going a different way , its usually a swiss army knife , this or the CRKT Edgie, tho most knifey people dont like it............the Lansky world legal knife stays in the glovebox,, in case it gets mistaken as a bludgeon lol :D

I like the big heavy style knives. But you're bang on that it's the historical factor that makes me like that folder.

My Lansky is excellent for general purpose. I have been finding lots of uses for it over the last few days. Shaving plastic off my poorly made pound land phone charger, sharpening a couple of pencils, shaving twigs for tinder when making a kelly kettle fire (I got bored the other day) and yesterday I even processed some wood with it - it's a good all round knife! As you say though, it does look quite menacing.

I was thinking of getting the Opinel, but when I considered how thin the blade was I decided against it since it's really just a slicing knife and I doubt it would tolerate a serious pounding.

OMG you guys are so organised!

EDC I only carry the bare minimum (what I actually have a daily use for):

Opinel Number 8
Co-codamol (1 strip)
Sertraline (1 strip)
Buscopan (1 strip)
Wallet
Keys
Zippo Lighter
Packet of smokes

In the glove box of my car is a Maglite, which after dark comes with me as Kent County Council have switched the street lights off after midnight. Otherwise that stays in the glovebox

The trouble with the opinels (bigger ones) is that they are a lock knife (tho they look very friendly) so even tho I like them I cant EDC them, I used to when I was working tho as I (IMO) had a valid reason to carry a locker...........
