I already had that thought about next year's fertiliser, it might be dear or scarce by springtime.
I've got two huge tins of Nido, we use a lot of milk in various things.
I think maybe more wool next - knitknitknit

I got caught out good and proper when we had the first lockdown, especially with gardening stuff. Mind you, there was serious illness in the house at that time,so I took my eye off it.

Dear or scarce is my thought too,Lil.

For some years I have kept an eye on the Supermarkets & big box stores in August September as they often try to clear out their gardening stock at that time and I will stock up on anything that will keep and is well priced. This saved my bacon when the lockdown gardening craze hit.
I agree that fertiiser will only get more expensive and will be stocking up this summer again ,ready for next year.

LED technology is superb, safe and reliable. Just about where I want to be now. I picked up another USB battery charger ( just as back up) which can charge batteries via any USB point ( tv ,solar panel or battery pack). I picked up another power bank from B and M .Goodmans brand for twelve quid. I have Anker too,but these cheapies will power up a couple of phones or tablets easily:

These will also power a USB lightbulb too. I have ordered a couple more from China. A fiver for the pair!

Heating won’t be a problem,as we are solid fuel, and boy ,we have plenty! I know it sounds daft ,given the current heatwave, but there will be a fire lit by the end of September. That’s not a long way off.

I shall also make sure that next Spring’s compost / fish blood and bone ,and the few annual vegetable seeds are laid in.
i to have been picking up these power banks and charging them up via solar panel charger off ebay there a great bit of kit
Remember the rule of the 7 P's, proper planning and prepperation prevents piss poor performance...

I have the usb lightbulbs as we use them when camping to light up the tent, one does the trick, but I invested in a few more for around the house. I have been having a bit of a clear out at home think " the gentle art of Swedish death cleaning" and found an Anker power bank in my bedside cabinet. We have several of these which are kept in the truck, in husbands works van and in my EDC. I have bought a few PIR lights for the kitchen, downstairs loo an d hallway to save on switching on lights but I do need something for when I blow out the candles and turn off the pc in winter or I will be bumbling around in the dark until I trigger the pir in the kitchen/hallway. Will be possibly investing in more head torches although I cant see youngest daughter who still lives at home getting on board with this. I've bought lots of rechargeable batteries to use in the pir's and may also use our camping lanterns as required although all take 3DD batteries. Attempting to work out the maths as to whether it would be cheaper to invest in LED rechargeable lanterns, use the power banks and usb bulbs, lanterns or rope lighting run off the usb power packs or just to use the camping lanterns which we already have with 3 DD batteries.

Get some d cell rechargeable batteries? And associated charger??

B&M Duracell d cells £2 a pack from memory it's been a few weeks since I stocked up

You already have the lanterns might as well keep your options open ;)

I like the energiser lantern I got it will take either AA OR D cells obviously with the impact of run time

AA batteries work fine in D Cell lanterns if you buy an adaptor
