Hello from sussex :)
Hello from sussex :)
Hey guys, I'm a student just about to leave college whose been waiting until I turned 18 so I could join this forum! I'm based in Sussex and have been prepping since I was 13 (It started off with a small bag with just cup a soups in! ). However now slightly older I realize I will need much more than cup a soups if it comes to me having to use my bug out bag! I'm still new to prepping in the sense I've only recently started taking it to a serious level, mainly after seeing all the government breakdowns and stuff on the news at the moment. I have some experience from DofE silver meaning I can navigate using a map and compass- a skill I'm shocked isn't taught in PE these days or geography for that matter. I wanted to join this forum to meet fellow preppers and also to search for information of what to put in a good bug out bag and find helpful tips along the way. I only have a single bag at the moment with necessities, which i am constantly adding to. However I also want to create bug out bags to cover my mum dad and brother- family not understanding why I do it is fine but at the end of the day I'd rather be prepared for whatever it is to come than be worried and not make it when it happens; whether its a government take over or even a zombie apocalypse, I shall be prepared!

Hello and welcome to the Forum.
Great intro by the way.

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Welcome, Emily! I think a basic bug out bag is a really good idea to start prepping seriously - after the floods these last few years, and the normal run of house fires, its a genuinely helpful thing to have.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I forgot to mention I was also a county championship archer and now do air rifle shooting as a hobby with my dad! Hopefully this will help me out a bit when putting together my kit. How do people feel on the weapons front- I personally prefer my bow as I can re use the arrows but with guns ammunition may run out; It's also much better for hunting (in my opinion) my brother prefers his rifle though so may just be what your used to using!
