Interesting! I've been looking for another water filter, I seem to have lost my original, this looks great, and the reviews are excellent. Pretty knowledgeable too.

The Sawyer mini is very good, we have five or six I think and combine them with Millbank bags to pre filter the water, clears out muck and grit and stops the Sawyer blocking up and needing a back flush to clear it.

I know the fella who makes these, superb quality

Not cheap but work very quickly so ideal for group use.

The sawyer mini will filter 100,000 gallons of water. and only ways ounces. Combined with a Millbank Bag pre filter should last a life time.

0.10 microns is more than sufficient for any in the UK.

And the livesaver has a limited shelflife and needs to be kept wet else its useless.

Its also 0.10 microns Absolute not Nominal.
Absolute means "No pore will be larger then"
Nominal means "Most pores are this size, but some might be bigger"

It won't stop every Virus on the planet, but it'll stop most of them.

I'd love a Sawyer, but I have to deal with chemical contaminates
