I have built many plywood boats, mostly from this guy's designs:

You will find the finished boat is much more stable and practical, without needing that much more work. The stitch and tape method works fine with cable ties, which are way easier to get out after the first epoxy has set.

I plan on making the one in the video I posted but adding an adaptation to it so that it could be used as a self supporting, single person emergency shelter when turned over.
