Hi all,
I have lurked on this board for a long time, but never actually got round to joining up.
I am 27 and live in London, my main interests regarding prepping are wild camping, archery, hiking and bug in plans.
I would love to hear peoples thoughts on prepping in small flats too! Though I will start another thread for this (cannot seem to find too much regarding 1 bed flat prepping!)!

Howdy
Welcome to the group.
I always find peoples ideas on how to get around difficult situations, and I expect there must be loads of people on here who live in small flats without gardens.
The inability to grow any food unless you have access to other gardening locations means resorting to storage, which in a small area is going to be difficult.
Also, whether the flat is owned or rented is going to limit what one might do.
And, the location, height above ground level, security issues, Fire or Flood risks etc all would play a part.
I currently live in a flat in a seaside town, although not a small place, the location is in an area that is probably less than ideal with regards to security and general safety. So my concerns may be different to other flat dwellers.
Hobo has been running a thread on here, in the Homes section, regarding his property which has raised some interesting points.
Look forward to hearing any ideas you might have

Hi and welcome I live in a two bedroom flat, second floor, no outside space or shed/garage and agree its difficult to stash as much as you would like to.
With regards to water storage - take your bath panel off and just look how much room you have under there, you can get a few big bottles and plenty of smaller bottles of water under there all out of sight.
Wardrobes/cupboards - first have a big clear out, you might be surprised how much room "stuff" you don't need or want takes up. Then plastic crates filled with food are hidden away.
Bed - Do you have a bed with storage drawers or ibe that lifts up? I have a king size bed with 4 drawers under, one filled with linen and the others filled with a huge horde of jar candles, tea lights, pillar candles, torches, batteries, lanterns, LED lights, matches, tons full of medical supplies.
I also use half my sons two double wardrobes and have a rather large supply of food hidden away inside, jars, tins, packets etc etc.
Make use of cupboard tops with boxes and bottles, under the kick boards with slim crates you can slide out when needed.
Just a few starters for you!

We've had quite a few discussions on here about the challenges of urban prepping. I seem to remember one of the UKP regulars, Arsozah, was writing a paper or something similar on the subject and he/she* had put a lot of research time in. Maybe do a search for his/her* posts.
