Hello all,
New member, been lurking for a while and thought it best to sign up and participate.
I'm not too sure what type of prepper i'd class myself as, being prepared is something i kind of grew up with and developed as i gained knowledge and experience, so from the basic preps of having some packs of tissues on a day out in case you're caught short to living totally off grid in a caravan on farms (something my partner and i did for about five years) i've covered a fair bit of ground!
Now we're a bit more settled in bricks and mortar on the outskirts of a large town, but i believe prepping to be just as important.
Recent preps have included;
Adding stock to my medical supplies, stocking up on water purification tablets and improving our 350L rainwater collection system.
Future projects are extra food storage and maybe learning the intricacies of ham radio!
So i'll look forward to learning, helping where i can and being part of the prepper network.

Re: Hello from Huddersfield
Hi Hamradioop,
thanks for the welcome. I don't really have anything specific in mind when prepping, it's just something that was either drilled into me as a young 'un or have learned from experience when i've been out and thought;
'wish i'd done that/brought some of those/added some of them to my bag' etc etc!
I don't think too much about things that i class as highly unlikely (zombie apocalypse, earths magnetic field collapsing, most of what David Icke says) but i do believe in the old 'be prepared' motto - even though i was never in the scouts!
So to me, having extra food for a few weeks, or the ability to collect and make safe drinking water are just basic things that should be done, in the event of something more likely such as bad weather, political instability leading to things like food/ fuel shortages, and the main problem i see which is Human panic and mob mentality, because both of those can turn a not-very-serious situation into a disaster.
