No, me neither.
I have a few boxes of strike-anywhere matches that have been tucking into a cupboard for a couple of years. Took them out to bodge a hinge repair (fill the old screw hole with match and wood-glue before re-attaching the hinge) and noticed they were no longer bright red, more a faded pink. They had pretty much lost their strike - very difficult to get them to light. If you have any in store, it might be worth checking.
Did you know matches could go off?
Re: Did you know matches could go off?
it's due to them absorbing moisture, even the match stick will absorb moisture over time. Where do you store them ??
I buy matches that are sealed in plastic, 6 boxs per pack. I opened a pack last xmas that was at least 10 years old and they've been fine .

That makes sense. These were stored in a kitchen cupboard on the wall, probably absorbing all the steam for the last 5 years. Will check all the others are re-think. Cheers.
