I'm sorry to hear it, Lil. Depending on medical input, have you heard of chairobics? It's for people who are literally confined to chairs for the most part.diamond lil wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 7:39 amHe's eating what I put under his nose but no enthusiasm. No medical advice really cos he knackered and there is nothing he can do - too icy to even try walking outside even if he was able.
It just came to meI'll tell next door she's been christened the Wee Coal Fairy![]()
Bleeping bleepiness, thats badI'm thinking now that we need to sort something out for the future re the coal fired stove, this is an HA house and Scotland I think will be trying to dump coal and move to something "cleaner" - aka "dearer". Although the coal bill for this fortnight was £128 so I doubt we will not be much worse off with electric.. just colder.
We have recently upgraded two 25 year old, economy 7, storage heaters for their modern versions (Dimplex Quantum) and they are excellent so far, certainly much better than the old ones, they seem to be keeping the room temperatures very even. Expensive to buy but the estimated running costs are predicted to be 30% cheaper than the old ones so we hope to recover some costs over time. Ideal "prepper" heating as if we loose power they hold their heat for 24 to 48 hours.diamond lil wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 7:39 am I'm thinking now that we need to sort something out for the future re the coal fired stove, this is an HA house and Scotland I think will be trying to dump coal and move to something "cleaner" - aka "dearer".
