USB power pack

Hello all, my ancient USB power pack has packed in. Does anyone have any recommendations for a new one? Ideally with solar panels but that's not a deal breaker.

We bought 2 from Lidl with solar panels a year or so back. Neither charged properly using solar so I advise buying from somewhere it is easy to return faulty goods and testing carefully when you get them.

I got one from aldi the other month you could probably bludgeon someone with it it's that robust .. not exactly compact but well err it's solid also charges at the higher ampage using that new anyway round usb plug that's on most new mobile phones c type ?

As for solar get a standalone panel to charge it those ones with a panel built in just about keep on top of loss during storage

Free postage on orders over £30 too ... It's not hard to spend £30 in the middle isle you also get first dibs on next week's special buys which is good if something you "must have" is coming up

Get a 2a usb car charger and mains charger if the lights go out at home and it needs a top up use the car to charge it ...

If the manure hits the fan big time the mobile network won't last long anyways..


I'd avoid those ones that offer a jump start facility too mine was supposed to be able to jump a 1.8l petrol engine..... Wife's last car was a 1.0l super mini tried it and all the smoke escaped from the jump lead magic black box .....

So I invested in one of these beasts

We have one at work and it easy spins the big 6l industrial yanmar / Perkins diesel engines in the cold

Agree with you there. I’ve a few Ravpower too which have proved reliable. Rather than a combined solar panel/power pack, I use separate folding panel and pack as the panel on the combined version isn’t very powerful.
