Lots of ways to rig a parachute as a shelter and heres one of my setups. They keep the wind out but not rain so you need to rig a cheap tarp over the top to completely weather seal it and sod's law means I can't find a picture of the setup with the full size tarp in use (I'll add it when I find it).
