A bit, but safe in the knowledge that it was there.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

A financial Prep. I've been researching the options to fix home energy prices.

So far, fixing for a year seems a no-brainer for me. If I fix JUST BEFORE 30 Sept, I'll be paying about 5% a year more than I have over the last 12 months. Since capped energy prices are scheduled to leap by 10% on Oct 1st, anyway, I'd already be lined up to pay much more than the capped rate.

Caveat, if home energy prices drop over the next 12 months, I'd maybe over pay...... And pigs might fly.

Caveat not mentioned elsewhere....... Locking in today would mean I overpay what's needed for the rest of September. So long as the deal is still available, I should execute the lock in at the end of the month.

Nothing exciting added a couple of packs of D cell batteries to replenish some id taken out of stock...

And bought a new torch  (not for me little lads Christmas list has 10 torches on it to be like daddy)

Little rechargeable energiser one but it's "only" 300 lumen and won't set fire to anything unlike my more powerful torches he keeps hankering after :o unlike his sister so far he seems to genuinely care for his stuff and looks after it his prised torch from santa is always put away bless him

It's his favourite colour and has snow flakes on it so definitely from Santa :ugeek:

diamond lil wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 5:18 pmFinally surfaced here after 2 weeks without internet. Really hard to manage life without it now. I was going to bed at 9pm because I was so bored  Even some nice light fluffy little old lady reading material - (ok, so mainly supernatural demons)- was not helping. Flat is quiet, warm and calm. And we don't have St Trinians next door now.
I was wondering where you were, Lil - glad to know you're okay (if bored!).

My prepping is as disrupted as ever - I had my niece's cat in the house for a few days a fortnight ago, and I have to move the houseplants around because they're listed as making cats sick. Plus tidying up the back door entry because he likes sitting there  🦊 He's back again for 3 weeks when she goes away for her main holiday, and I've just got back from a few days at Hadrian's Wall, which was fantastic - but my bug out bag and my hospital bag are both now decimated from things I nicked from them for the holibob. And I'm shattered  so it's all catchup.
