Have done some massive shops of mostly canned goods. Feel a bit happier as a result.
Have emptied and refilled bug out bag, replacing toiletries with new stuff as I don't know how long toothpaste etc. lasts so better safe than sorry. Also replaced medicines with the longest bbf dates I could find..
Today is a nice day so plan to hit the garden. Hopefully home grown food will be a bonus and not a necessity but either way I've got a lot of work ahead.

Brilliant weather for the gardeners amongst us! Spent the morning planting/replanting the herb garden. We use a lot of fresh herbs and I like to do this job every spring. Some seem to do just fine left alone (rosemary, marjoram and mint) but others like a bit of tlc after the harsh wet and windy winter climate here in Cumbria (chives, sage, basil, sorrel, thyme amongst others). Always have a pot of coriander on the kitchen windowsill. Herbs are so easy to grow and maintain and great from a prepping point of view for all the pasta we have stored - would liven it up no end! Hope others are enjoying the weather. 8-)

Did a few more hours digging out marestail and bindweed at the lotment. Took a few binbags full to the tip. Will I pass the inspection this month? Looking hopeful. I just need to stay on top of it.
Started some seeds in modules and into my little plastic cloche thingy. Fingers crossed they don't get blown away ( or otherwise neglected ) like the last two years.
Tesco finally had some Stockwell beans, so I bought what they had, bar the many dented tins.

Not gonna attempt any more gardening, except maybe a bit at the front, my back's not up to it. But my little new tree has grown buds over the last few days, so it looks like it's survived the winter, touch wood. I was worried about the cold, and also because I'd put it in front of the central heating flue. I've moved it away from that (it's in a pot). However it is going to go cold again, so I hope it's not budded prematurely. We will see.

To assist in my overall health I have a couple of quotes coming on to re-fence my part of the garden, rebuild a retaining wall that stopped retaining and remove grass font and back and pave said areas.

The grass cutting alone would take me 2 hours with breaks but the recovery time 3 days
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

A few dozen onion sets in the lawn edging is a jolly jape and dead easy.

Car taxed and insured.
Found a reasonably cheap 12m fix for the gas and 'lectric (20ish quids less per month)
Now thanks to the lergy, I'm rotating my stocks of paracetamol, cough mixture and 'rolla tissue'
