This little beauty just arrived from the USA

Bear Grylls Compact Tool

£14.15 delivered

I was looking for very small items for EDC. This seemed to fit the bill -





Is small enough to fit in my pocket without noticeable weight or bulk.

It has pliers and wire cutters, knife, serrated blade, bottle opener, flat and cross head screw driver, small flat head screw driver and tweezers.

All seems robust and useful.

Clicks into small mode very strongly. And all the tools click home firmly. Maybe a little too firmly as the smaller items are tricky to fold out. Might get easier as they bed in a bit.

Need to have a play now!

It looks very similar to the Gerber Vise. Not even sure what's the difference

Is the "difference" the Bear brand?!

That's just a marketing difference because the manufacturer is the same - I'm just wondering if the tools on them are different?
Hobo do you find your vise too soft? I mean I know it's a micro tool but wouldn't want to break it the first time I would want to screw something in.

Ye I think it is pretty much just rebranded. It is hard to find the tool list on the vise!

The only difference I can see is that I looks like there might be a filing surface on the screw driver arm on the vise. This isn't on the Compact Multi Tool.

I don't feel like I would break mine easy under normal use. Although I haven't really used many of the tools in anger yet
