The neat thing with this stove however is that it uses some of the heat produced to generate a bit of electricity that you can use via a built-in USB port to recharge your smartphone or run a small light or whatever

After much testing and waiting Biolite stoves are now available to buy. Seems only the 'camping' size stove rather than the homestove is available atm, and at $129 + (unknown) Shipping + vat + customs, etc it isn't cheap, but it looks like a good prepping tool.http://shop.biolitestove.com/BioLite-Ca ... _p_15.html

I really like the fact that you can charge a phone, while heating something up. Might save up for this. Jean
