Water / Food Storage

Hello all,
I am very knew to the Preppers world, well... I have alway planned for the future and my cupboards are always FULL, but now I am thinking about long term, and I never really stored any water.... so any suggestion is welcome.

Water Tanks - I am looking into storing some water, but I am not sure waht tanks are most suitable..... Are IBC containers suitable?
With regards to food, I would love to buy a load of the Mountain House freeze Dry Tins, but they are soo expensive... does anyone knows of any alternative brand?

Hi blackwidow did you introduce yourself on the new members site. Some reading needed doing here you will find lots of info on water storage but it depends on what you would like to store water for. Rain water is easy just a couple of water butts and thats your loos flushed and washing up done drinking water just some old drink's bottle filled up with tap water kept for about 3 to six months then emptyed into your water butts and refilled hope that helps
