Welcome to the forum omgshtf

Some advice. One thing you probably do not want to do is break cover like you propose (posting notices in asking for like minded people etc) there has been lots of discussion about the dangers of this - just search for the term OPSEC to find the threads. Think real carefully about how you approach this otherwise you will put yourself and your family in danger post SHTF.

As for advertising UK Preppers - you probably deserve an explanation regarding the vehemence of the negative responses from the admins (admins have their names in Green). While I do not speak for them, and this is just my opinion, my feeling is that UK-Preppers is a great forum and is remarkably free of trouble makers and the mentally unstable. This makes it a useful place for information exchange amongst the like minded. IMHO it is a far, far better to let people find this site on their own accord rather than go out and try to convert the great unwashed. There is no great desire here to have a recruiting drive and, in fact, new registrations were temporarily disabled a couple of weeks ago in part because it was felt there was too large an influx of new people. These, by the way, were people who actually were concerned enough and sufficiently self motivated to find this place by themselves.

IMHO one thing we do not need here is a load of new people who join up and then demand that we convince them that we are right. Probably nobody has the time or energy for endless arguments like that.

With tonights airing on National Geographic I wouldn't worry about looking for loons, the loons will more than likely find there way here soon enough

I've noticed a marked increase in "New Preppers" over the last 2-3 weeks on various boards since Doomsday preppers has been air in marathon sessions, with the UK version on tonight I'm sure more than one will find their way here.

Hence why new user signups are still disabled...

The new users we've had recently were created before the registration was disabled.

Nicely put TwoDo by the way :)
