Hi, we're newbie's from Notts

Post by Dr Prepper »

Hi guys,

we've just got into the idea of prepping. Having taken in the current world state, we felt that should the system collapse we would be on our own and out on a limb. So apart from some basic food and water hoarding, we're at the bottom of the ladder and would love to have some advice, be educated and hear from people who are in our area, maybe with other people we could start or join a local prepper network / club. When i say we i mean me ( Daz 43yrs ), my wife ( Caz 42yrs ) and my 2 sons ( 1st son of which has a partner 22yrs and 3yr old daughter ), and my daughter. Our kids ages are:- 1st son 24yrs, 2nd son 22yrs and daughter 19yrs, this is just to give you guys an idea of the family unit that we are.

I have some skills to bring to the table which are communications ( i am an amateur radio operator full class with city & guilds qualifications.) so i could get a comms. center up and running, at most, in an hour or so. I also have electronics experience in repairing equipment. My wife is well experienced in most types of needlecraft, so is handy at making clothes, blankets and also repairing clothing. She is currently extending her knowledge.

The only down side for me is that i am disabled ( Spine injury ) and i'm a diabetic on insulin. My spine injury does affect my mobility and lifting capability, but with the skills i'm trained in, i wouldn't need to run or lift a car lol, so my usefulness is still there. In the case of an emergency i.e. bugout / bug in and short insulin supply, i could keep my sugar levels as low as poss. for me by consuming low carb. low sugar foods and increasing protein. Although not an ideal situation, it could buy me some time till a supply could be found or reinstated.

Well guys that's our life story out of the way, lol, and we're all ears listening out.

Regards

Daz & Caz
