Diabetics

Post by redskies »

I've been sidetracked in my search for help in PSHTF times for diabetics, but this caught my eye today, so I wanted to share it with you.

I haven't had time to do more than skim the article myself, and I'm not sure when I'll have time to read it properly, then follow up on the research papers and do my own research, so I'd advise you to do that before taking anything as read. But I did say I'd try to find something, so here's a start!

I'll try to pop back when everything in RL has calmed down a bit, and before it all gets interesting again when I open the shop!

Just had a good look at the article and some of the references then cross checked with what i could find on Athens.. looks to be a sensible substitute for the Tablet and Diet controlled Diabetics (NIDDM/type 2)

the Medical part of me would advise that you stay on your medication and investigate this as a SHTF solution only. if you end doing any form of real world trials make sure that you are supported and that you monitor blood sugars to ensure that you are not harming yourself.

Excellent. I'll see if I can find time to dig around a bit more. Flat out with the shop just now!

I would say the same, and have, repeatedly, just in case someone on read only decides to go for their own clinical trials!
