quick question 6month old water for the garden..ok?

im renewing my water stocks, we have a new community garden bottom of the block can i use this water for the garden? thank you

It would IMHO probably have some unpleasantness in it. It might be good to invest in a UV-C water germ killer (there is a wind up one called a sidewinder that goes for under £90, or maybe a cheap battery powered UV-C wand that is OK for water use (not all of them are).

Alternatively make sure that you boil it for 10 minutes on a rolling boil to kill off any pathogens that might be in it. I personally wouldn't drink stagnant water.

You might want to think about distilling it, or possibly other forms of non chemical water sanitation. There are chemical ways, but I am not a chemical expert and tend to steer clear of them.

Nick I think he is going to pour the water away and rather than down the drain is going to use it to water the local gardens.

We have water as old as that in our water butts waiting for the dry summer this year, won't do any harm pouring it on the garden, as it is already about 8 billion years old before we collected it ;)

well this morning they got the good stuff, while i waited for answer, tomorrow they get the 6 month water, Our Tenants Association won 4k funding for the garden, least i can do is keep the plants alive
