Others will know better than I ( 4x4 newbie ), but apart from the 4 wheel drive they don't look to have any off road capability , wheels , suspension etc.
And (for me) the price is a stopper, I have a mate into the whole VW camper thing and campers seem to go for far more than they are worth, having just bought a 4X4, you can pick up a decent one for less than a grand.

A Mitsubishi Delica would be a better option than the Bongo because it's as capable off road as the Pajero. It has the same chasis, etc with just a different body. I know that a lot of folk take them green laning.

had a swb pajero with all terrains and it went just about anywhere, then got a delica and i enjoyed it but people in the back always felt sick from body roll, although off road it was great... then got a lwb pajero... no one moaned about being sick but that did have adjustable suspension... soft/medium/hard never did see a deli with that
although with some decent tread it was more than capable of getting out of many situations and loads of room in the back... but on the + side the lwb pajero with roof box/trailer.... the back seats fold down to make a kingsize bed..... horses for courses, for me maybe the transit 4 wheel drive with half the back kitted out from an old caravan and rest kept clear for storage.
