I have a large amount of magnesium swarf for swap or sale.
This is very fine magnesium shavings that have been brushed up off the floor so it contains some dust but it still burns good and hot (3,000 degrees plus)
The picture shows a bag with one litre of the magnesium swarf next to a one kilo bag of sugar to show its size.
If anyone wants any it is £5 per bag plus P&P, or something of a similar value.
I have approx. 150 litres of this and can supply any amount.
It is great for starting fires and is quite light so doesn't add much weight to your BOB.
Message me if you are interested or post any questions here.

Have you looked up the shipping of such substances? I think that would be classified as volatile or dangerous.
None the less, it's a interesting little prep item.
How'd you come across it?
What's the purity?

It is not on the banned list and the flashpoint is over 600 degrees. It also does not react with air so Postman Pat's van would have to be a burning wreck for this stuff to go off.
Not sure of the purity as it has dust particles mixed in with it. The actual magnesium is 100% magnesium though.
I can also get pure magnesium powder which 100% pure as well as some pieces of solid magnesium that were printing plates.
The problem with having the blocks of magnesium you see on camping sites is that you have to use a knife to cut the magnesium down to smaller pieces.
This is already done for you so you can just throw some in an old 35mm film can and throw it in your BOB.
At 3000 degrees it is great for damp tinder just be careful in heavy rain.

Hi Tornicho,
I am trying to reply to your message but it just sitting in my outbox.
I have replied to others today and they have gone fine, it is just your messages that don't want to extracate themselves from my outbox.
Have you got the message and it is just a shadow lurking there or are they being stubborn in their refusal to leave me?
Hi Technik,
Glad it got there OK. If you need any more just give me a shout.
