Procell batteries

Anyone got any prior experience with Duracell Procell batteries. I've decided to give some a try as they are supposed to have a much longer shelf life. A trial pack I ordered arrived today with a best before date of mid 2020.

Interesting.

Good idea for temporary SHTF some indeterminate time in the future, especially for bug out bags - lightweight power.

Long-term disruption: once you start using them, they will still discharge. I use wind-up torches, which save me money now and should work for years.

I use Sanyo Eneloops. They can be recharged up to 1800 times and hold 70% of their power for up to 5 years. Great for storage

Procell batteries are all I ever use in my wireless guitar system.(doesn't like rechargeables, too low voltage)

They're long lasting and very reasonably priced. Ticks all the boxes for me!

We use them a lot wireless mice/keyboards clocks, ear defenders, and torches, they are pretty damn good, it's horses for courses, as Eddie said rechargeable are 1.2V not 1.5V many things don't like that, some can even be damaged by that because they are lower voltage yet higher current, plus they loose charge too quickly in little used equipment.
We use rechargeable batteries in appropriate stuff which get a lot of use which would eat "normal" ones like main torches, x-box controllers, wireless headphones and here's a tip for you.. if you have any rechargeable stuff that uses an adaptor from the mains plugged in all the time they could be costing you a few quid a year in energy you'll never see the benefit of.

Procell is just the name given to Duracell's industrial battery range, they have the same capacity and life as Duracell's normal range of batteries, but have a different colour scheme, this was done to to differentiate between the two, to try and cut down on pilfering of a companies stock, they are also available in bulk discounts.

Normal Duracell batteries are guaranteed for 10 years in storage but procell advertise up to seven years of storage, a very strange difference, I bought my last lot from 7dayshop as they were the cheapest on offer, normally I use rechargables but for some applications like tv remotes alkalines are best.

I've got a few packs of batteries from pound land put away, are these as good as the branded Duracell ones or just a false economy?

they won't last as long as duracell's and make sure they are leak proof, my sister bought some and they leaked inside my nieces cd player making a right old mess

Good tip thank you. They are the kodac ones but have no date on the packaging which is strange?!
