Re: Short wave radio
Serious question. Why do you think you specifically need shortwave?
I do keep a SW capable radio. The intention is to allow me to get information from abroad if there was a UK wide problem.

Re: Geiger Counters & Dosimeters
I have taken a look at the FNIRSI GC-01 Geiger counter. A few random thoughts. Manufactured in China so any guarantee is probably worthless and I would not trust the calibration. The measured dose range quoted is odd. Some reviews suggest the GM tube is poor quality. If so tube life may be poor. Als...

Re: Geiger Counters & Dosimeters
You do need some understanding but a working knowledge of the basics would probably see you right. Having the ability to make basic measurements of radiation would allow you to take cover without waiting for official channels to decide they had better do something. It is worth keeping in mind that b...

Anything radioactive have been around a while and I gave bought from them with no issues. https://www.anythingradioactive.com/geiger-counters The GMC range is more expensive but good. However, when used professionally all radiation monitors require regular testing and calibration. This is not cheap ...

Please don’t be offended if you already know this but be very careful mixing paracetamol with cold and flu remedies. They often contain paracetamol in addition to other ingredients. You can easily overdose. Paracetamol maximum of 4 grams in 24 hours for an adult. Most tabs are 0.5 grams. Don’t risk ...
Re: Sandbags
Double check but I believe the sand after exposure to flood water is regarded as contaminated (sewage etc) so it requires special disposal. You have to pay for it’s disposal as the council says not their problem. Also hessian rots quickly once wet. Have you looked at these? Hydrosack and hydrosnake....

Re: EMF/EMP fabric or paint
Just for the record I have some knowledge of pacemakers. Thye all react to a magnetic field. This is deliberate. When you went for for a pacemaker check they used to put a magnet on the pacemaker . This automatically puts it into a fixed rate of 100 bpm. This was a test it is also an emergency baleo...
