Re: Water desalination
I don't know if it would suit you, but it certainly works for me up in the Wild West coast. I got the idea from a youtube vid. Go to youtube search for homemade desalinator and the first vid should be a guy called Joseph Schmidt. Good video, sound instruction!

I know they cost a small fortune, but the rifle carrying capability as well as any other long bit of kit...

There is a BIG difference between a paper target and a human being, and what about if they missed, how many innocents are hurt or kil...

Re: Firearms for defensive purposes? - A good link
I think for me a renewed look at gun law in Britain would be a welcome sight.... I don't know if going to the same lengths as America is a good idea, but owning a fully legal pistol of some sort for home/family defence makes sense to me. I am a fac holder which is for a weapon used for legal stalkin...

Re: Uses for plastic hose??
I pack two smallish bits of clear braided and mark one with black tape (dirty usage) and no marking on other (clean usage). They are there for possibly draining fuel for stove/fire etc, and for getting water from inaccessible places or from under top contamination.... Will look at a still now though...
