One of the advantages of living in the back of beyond is that your neighbours do too. Nearest is over 1/4 mile nearest one I consider a friend is over 1/2 mile. Village shop is 12mile round trip for me, more for some and nearest supermarket is 40 mile round trip, so all who live here have food in th...

Re: How likely is it
Apart from immediate family and one almost family, I keep my stores secret - thank goodness. However my fruit and veg garden is clearly visible from the road, okay it's a single track and not exactly heavy with traffic but I doubt if the contents would last long even so. my log store is also easily ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12

Have emptied and refilled bug out bag, replacing toiletries with new stuff as I don't know how long toothpaste etc. lasts so better safe than sorry. Also replaced medicines with the longest bbf dates I could find.. ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 12
Given the news at the moment, which I would rather not listen to or read but can't help myself, I decided that it was time for a review of my stores. I haven't been shopping much of late and no big shops either so things were much worse than I feared. So today I'm tidying up and shuffling shortest d...

Re: Goats
Brought back so many happy memories on reading your post. We kept goats when our children were young, Sanaan, Toggenburg and British Alpine. Our kids (?) were reared on goats milk, they were incredibly strong as toddlers - we blamed the goats milk  . I found that the milk didn't keep long so we...
