MeacoCool MC Series Pro 10000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner. Last night, it took 2 hours for the full rebound. Heat is coming from bricks, plaster, furniture etc. Nothing a portable can do about that unless you leave it on, but it's too noisy, cold, and expensive to leave on all night. I think my st...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13
This A/C is using way less power than I expected - less than a third. Admittedly today is a mild test. My room was 23.5 so I set it to 23 as a test. My thermometer now reads 21.5, so it's come down 2°. Clearly I can set it to 25 tomorrow, as it seems to overshoot a bit. Energy used in an hour is 0....

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13
Portable A/C test results. Room was 21.9 around noon. Set AC to 21. Ran for 1 hour. Room cooled to 19.7. I think AC had more or less settled at that point, as the curve has flattened. I'm not sure if I kept my door shut, obviously I should have. Window was reasonably well sealed. It was about 22 ou...

Re: Home Solar System
Maybe a tad newer. You know I'm a tightwad, but I consider this a reasonable upgrade opportunity even at the high price. Just a bit cross to know that I could probably get away with a 99p 13A plug and that many of my peers already do so. Oh hum. It is what it is. Worth asking if it's a full new boa...

Re: Home Solar System
Yeh erm 1970s vintage I'm guessing that's the realms of old wylex bakelite type board with probably 1990s upgrade with plug in circuit breakers
