Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 4
We have both realised recently it's time to get back in the saddle. Both too busy with our businesses and not focusing. So we got the poly recovered, bought in a great deal of fresh seeds and planted a lot more fruit, nut trees. Next week we will be stock taking to see where the holes are in our res...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? Part 3.
We have been terribly slack recently, too busy running our businesses. We have however just finally had a three week break away from everything , this has given us a chance to think about our tardiness in the prep department. So, today being crappie weather, the store room is going to be emptied out...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? part 2.
We are upping the ante here now, far too many things going on, eg us and Europe keeps prodding the big bear, terrorism coming to the UK real soon etc. So, short term supplies upped, like rice, pasta, oats, pulses, sugar etc. We've also started to keep more junk food that keeps for ever like packs of...

Re: if shit hit the fan how will you be cooking!?
The first thing we did on buying this place was rip out the oil rayburn and eBay it, then fitted a solid fuel one. This year we've ripped out the seventies tiled open fireplace and put in a flat top multi fuel stove "best money ever spent", we generally have about ten tonnes of hard wood l...

Re: Prepper Trailer Report
That's so cool! I can see a lot of thought has gone into that.
We use my extra long high top van for our travelling, it's great, but it has downside of cooking fumes and having to be spot on with packing, whereas a trailer negates those problems.

Feisty, it's an unbranded sold by mole valley farmers! Paid less than two hundred as ex display model and on a special. Has a flat top so that we can cook on it which was one of our criteria when looking for one. Seriously though I just can't believe we didn't get this sorted earlier, it has used no...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Fairly major thing sorted, ripped out seventies open tiled fireplace and installed new multi fuel burner, lit first time today, currently stinking the room out while it cures, but already can't believe how little fuel it's using and the heat it's giving off while closed right down. This is going to ...

Re: HOME CANNING
If the necessary items become available in the UK for home canning it will snowball if it's got out there right, we considered doing it a couple of years ago but then started a different business for my wife.
We will definitely be regular customers.

Re: A cornish community?
I think you'll find it's 12 years of proof you've had it there and no objections have been made, my old man did it on the farm over in west Wales, but he did 14 to be on the safe side.
