Re: For the first time, I feel a bit twitchy!
I'm not saying that another terrorist organisation would hit Warrington again but the effect that the IRA left on the psyche of our town is palpable again after what has happened in Paris. I am more thinking along the lines of vigilance, preparation and knowing that my eldest could/can operate and e...

Re: For the first time, I feel a bit twitchy!
Thanks for everyone's replies, I'm a bit more at ease that this isn't my mind going crazy and that other people are feeling similar emotions. It's not that I'm letting it change my life, I am still going shopping, I am still taking my kids to school daily, I am still doing what I need to do but the ...

For the first time, I feel a bit twitchy!
As the subject line suggests I've been feeling rather twitchy given what has happened in France. Yesterday I was in our town centre and saw two armed police officers outside of our shopping centre, this prompted me to avoid going in there at all. In the past we have been the victim of bomb attacks t...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? part 2.
I have started thinking ahead to Autumn/Winter preps. Noticed a local department store selling lots of winter wares off cheaply so going to stock up on boots for me and the kids, gloves/hats/macs etc.
This alleged Summer weather got me on this train of thought, utterly dismal in the North West!

Re: Paris Pandemonium!
Hey everyone! I have loved reading all of your responses. Made for a very interesting read. I have noticed a few people mentioning country being safer than city but it was only a few years ago that Anders Breivik let loose in Norway in the country and did so tactfully knowing he had previously distr...

Paris Pandemonium!
I know they say lone wolf attacks are hard to prepare for, hard to stop etc but this past week watching two situations unfold in Paris and the Sydney seige a few weeks ago has got me thinking. How would you prepare for a lone wolf attack, if you could do such a thing of course? The assailants obviou...

Re: New to prepping and wondering how many parents!
Hey once again thanks for all your great replies regarding the parcel incident! On 11/1/15 in the same shopping centre there was a bomb threat, the place was locked down, police everywhere and a tactical unit...this time I was at home. Luckily no-one was injured and to my knowledge no active device ...
