Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 10
I have been following some of the COVID Inquiry, and finding it really horrifying - lack of planning, lack of awareness of the situation and how it was changing, lack of ability of those making decisions, lack of accountability, lack of compassion. I am not sure what or when the next crisis is - oth...

Re: N.H.S. views and experiences
Have had an ongoing alert from GP to say they are short staffed, and not to bother to try to call them and do not even think of trying to visit to ask for an appointment, but you can still go through the e.consult process - and someone at some point will get back to you...... I always plan / allow f...

Re: N.H.S. views and experiences
Just had a flyer through the door advertising private GP practice locally - as far as I can tell it is completely private GP practice. Before I have only ever encountered NHS GP who do some private work on the side. Really do fear this is shape of things to come.

Re: N.H.S. views and experiences
sorry to say, I am afraid that this is the shape of things to come..... I can see the GP model moving to a similar model to dentistry, very basic limited NHS availability which is supplemented by private practice for those who can afford it. Local GP surgery is short staffed, very limited availabili...

Re: Wilko Collapse
I will miss Wilko, I hope it can saved in some form but doubt it will ever retain the same number of stores or range of products. Luckily our son was happy with Wilko Blox, and we got very many presents for him from Wilko, at one stage they did a Blox pick 'n' mix and he would happily spend ages loo...

Re: General finance planning
Some excellent points here, very useful food for thought We have wills in place, and keep these with account information, and funeral requests in labelled folder with our records. Husband and I both have life insurance, through workplace pensions and separate life insurance policies, luckily I got m...

Re: Ecoflow river 2
I have been looking at options for a backup, and an considering Ugreen PowerRoam 1200W, mainly due to fast recharge and battery composition for longer life battery, and at the moment cheaper than Jackery, or other alternatives. I am concerned that this is a relatively new area for the company, and t...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 10
Got a small, cheap second hand sewing machine and going to start out with new lined heavy curtains for the winter. As an aside, when did sewing machines get so expensive and complicated?!? Looked at some in JL and was really a bit freaked out by both cost and complexity, assured by colleagues that £...

General finance planning
Dear all, so after a bit of a break from the boards, health, work and family life all got a bit much I am starting to reengage (is that even a word?). so finance wise I was thinking of what more I can do or should to prepare to do for life events as well as unforeseen natural events, and would welco...

Irrigation system for watering pots
Hi, I grow a lot in pots due to space restrictions - soft fruit such as blueberry, gooseberry, raspberry plants, and soft veg such as butternut squash. I do really well but watering is really time consuming, at the moment I am using watering cans, with large plant pot trays to hold water, and water ...
