Re: Nuclear War

Yeah I can see the castle from my window which is the natural aiming point for Edinburgh. As one of the targets will be places of government, I don’t expect to have any chance as it will be hit fairly early on. In fact there was a leaked report in the papers last month I think it was that said in a ...

If it hit the Broch, how would folk know? 😉

Re: Nuclear War

Yes, you are right, it was a ‘worst case scenario’ book - probably should have mentioned that! I guess it just appealed to my pessimistic nature and made me question exactly what I’m actually prepping for … You can’t prep for it. Too small an island, too many targets and would you really wan...

Re: Nuclear War

I have the audiobook version. While it is indeed a book that expertly deals with the topic, I felt it always went to the ‘worst case scenario’ at every turn which is fine for the book, it wouldn’t sell if it was ‘a cooler head decided not to launch missiles over Russia’. Even though it’s not been us...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

Scots weather form getting seriously into next week's charts now - temps set to plunge and we will get a decent lot of snow, but too early to say exactly where. I'm trying to raise the energy to run round in circles and panic buy, but it's just not happening yet. I find a good panic takes a wee bit...

Re: Thinking about winter 24-25....

Is it just me or does this feel really mild for this time of year? My heating's been out of action for about four days, no possibility of a fix till tomorrow at 4pm, and I'm feeling it a bit :( I waited years to do this. When I lived in New Zealand, my old man came down in June for a job interview ...

Is it just me or does this feel really mild for this time of year? I’ve prepped the car but it’s hardly even been raining up in Edinburgh.

We have had one storm but other than that, nowt.

Re: Prices!!

I can’t remember how much I paid for them but when did folk start selling their first born to buy stock cubes?

I swear it’s the small stuff that is grinding my gears just now.

Re: Prices!!

Not at all Grenfell, I give my wife most of my wages and she runs the house as she’s far better than me at doing these things. Anyhow, I usually make home made soup for my lunch but unfortunately I left it on the bunker and had to go Tesco for lunch. Pot Noodles have gone up from £1 to £1.10. Now it...
