Re: European Entry System (EES)
Well sitting waiting for the flights home and it’s been busy but relatively straightforward. However…. Tui have ten, yes ten flights leaving in the next two hours. We got a private transfer over to the airport and had about a half hour queue at baggage drop off but we saw the buses arrive when we we...

Re: BUTTER?
I remember the so called wine lakes as well.
Which I wanted to row across, lazily dipping my cup into.
Except there was never a lake. Another day dream shattered.
Anyhow, buy local butter and milk if you can. Grahams do a very good sea salt butter up in Scotland, not sure if you get it down south.

Re: BUTTER?
With the price of Lurpack spreadable going through the roof a few years back, we switched to butter and I must say, the taste difference is amazing!
Plus it’s probably better for you.
Was there not a butter surplus in the EU back in the day?

Well it was busy going through but pretty seamless, no fingerprints or photographs like you have even transiting through the States. I think it took aro...

Re: European Entry System (EES)
I got £500 back from Qatar for the cancellation of my flight back from Oz but that wasn’t even half of it and I had to pay a lot more.
Off to Corfu on Friday, I believe they have done away with the checks other than the usual ones at the airport. I will let folk know when I go through!

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13
Not a prep for me but I checked in with my uncle down in Suffolk to make sure he has fans etc. Which he does.
He’s only in his 70s but I like to check in with him.

Seeing I was posting about Maslow’s basic needs of food, warmth and shelter, well I need a BoB/Bug in bag check to see what I am missing, any advice is very welcome. Rucksack. Spare thermal clothes. Solar panel battery charger. Rechargeable torch. First aid kit. Solar panel/wind up radio. Flints. Pa...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13
Actually, it was on here I learnt a new trick for hot water bottles. If your good lady is peri or full menopausal, fill a bottle with cold water and stick it in the fridge. Take it out before it freezes and becomes a deadly weapon that might become evidence A in a future murder trial after you had t...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13
Absolutely, we have two as well as fleece throws for the couch. ‘Use stuff yer granny would recognise’ is a pretty good motto, be that water bottles or food. My Granny cooked with lard, ate butter, two sugars with her tea and ate a lot of stuff that would be considered not healthy these days, yet li...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13
Cheers, it was good experience but it wasn’t a job I was really enthusiastic about. Also, I don’t think it’s a good idea to be interviewed by people who were your peers. Doesn’t really work as they know you and have probably chatted nonsense at a night out with. There was only person I didn’t really...
