Canned Cheese in Tesco

"Tropical Sun Tastee Cheese"

Been on the lookout for some canned cheese for a while now and stumbled across some today in Tesco of all places in the Caribbean world foods section.

I couldn't find it on Tesco's own site, but you can find it on a comparison website -

Bought some earlier (from Surrey Quays in London) - £3 a can at the moment - and tried it out. Not bad, not great though, quite salty (being for the Caribbean market I suppose) - I suspect the 'Happy Cow' brand on conserva.de would be a creamier, smoother taste but haven't had the opportunity to try some of that out so don't take my word for it.

BBE date on the tin is Jan 2015 but I intend to keep it indefinitely assuming the can doesn't become rusted or dented (and I'll of course check the state of the cheese prior to actually eating it if it comes to it).

Interesting find. I am off to do a bit of stocking up in the morning, and tin cheese could be a useful storage item.

I like Happy Cow, but am finding it hard to get

I also liked Happy Cow canned cheese. ROSSPA used to sell it for 20p a can, fantastic value but sadly they're no longer trading.

If anyone knows where I can get some please let me know.
