Hey y'all
I've been forced into thinking about things I'd rather not think about of late. I won't go into detail but as much as I don't want to think about it, this is very much the other side of prepping. Preparing to have not survived. It's a morbid topic, and I really don't want anyone to dwell on this too much. Personally, I have a pretty good (on paper) policy so my family shouldn't need to worry about any debt when I shuffle on, and I've been thinking about setting up another policy so that my LO is taken care of in the event.
Has anyone else put much thought into this?

Re: Terminal Preps
It makes sense. It's not something to dwell on, just get sorted.

Yep, I had a will whilst Serving and have kept this updated.
A list of who gets what and how any money is divided as well.
Money set aside for my funeral and a large P1$$ up after.
Wish I could be there for it.

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

got our eyes on a plot in a woodland burial site, went to the opening day and made enquiries, but that's it so far.
Adapt or Die, there is no middle ground.
Re: Terminal Preps
My M-in-L has informed us that she has paid for her funeral already, on a fixed deal. That way we shouldn't have to pay anything when she pops off this mortal coil. Might seem morbid but I think it's a pretty good idea.
I should imagine she's already chosen which Daniel O'Donnell song she wants.
We have some financial 'things' that we have in one or others name. We need to make sure that we have joint names on everything to make it easier if something unexpected should happen.

I have thought about this, and Im only 31, I have 2 life insurance policies, one to ensure my partner is looked after and the other to ensure my son gets all he needs. Last year I paid to have a corporate will in place to ensure dividing of my business is done how I want, not how the law states when a will isn't in place. All morbid stuff but needed to be done. I know too many under 50s who have dropped dead, so I just cant risk it.
Re: Terminal Preps
Its not morbid it is an inevitable fact of life.
Having said that I have zero preps in place!

I used to work next door to a solicitor. When our first Daughter was on the way, he told me to get a will. I did. I had an uncle who died without a will. He was well off, and it caused all sorts of problems form my Aunt.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

This sounds like good planning.

Re: Terminal Preps
We're preppers, we prepare.
Life insurance
Will
A "To be opened...." letter
Funeral at least planned if not prepaid
All these are useful in the event of us not making it out of life alive.
Thanks for reminding me, I need to look around and find another life insurance policy as my current one (a "Survive for ten years and we'll give you a wad" type) expires next year.
This is something I just found http://www.make-your-will.co.uk/
