Ok, I've bit the bullet and ordered the following from Amazon which are the cheapest I can find:

http://www.amazon.com/Sawyer-Products-S ... PDKIKX0DER

Apparently with any (overseas) purchase over about £16.00 import taxes are due, but Amazon/Ebay automatically add this to the total that you pay. So the total for the above purchase worked out at about £63.40 including delivery and import taxes etc, and that equates to £15.85 all in for each filter.

Delivery is estimated at 8-14 days, so I'll let you know how it all goes when they arrive 8-)

Have to see about that as I was originally planning on the 2 straws plus a Katadyn Combi Water Filter, but this has worked out quite a bit cheaper!!

Now I know I don't need 4 of them  but ......

Then I will settle for a review, will probably get the Survivapure in that case and will a write up.

You can order single versions of the Sawyer from the US via Amazon/Ebay for about £22 all in.... and there is no import taxes on a single one because the value of the product is less than £16.00 (postage takes it up to £22)

For me they are the way to go as you can use them as both a straw and also your main water filtration device and the filtration standard is higher than the Survapure and for that matter the Katadyn Water Filters! :D

Ok, confused.com, are we now looking at a bulk purchase of the Sawyer? If so I would prefer to be added to that list please.

Well the Sawyer's that I order last Thursday from Amazon.com have arrived today!! So thats pretty good going with them being delivered from the states within 7 days and at half the price of buying them from the UK even after taking import taxes into account!! :o

I think I'll be checking prices on Amazon.com a bit more often in the future :D

Hey guys,

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works but I have bought two of these:
http://www.amazon.com/NduR-52010-Filtra ... ter+filter

The plastic water bottle is really high quality malleable plastic and the filter is chunky, which personally I find comforting because I know there is plenty of carbon between me and the microbials!

I hope to have a review of the Survivapure after the weekend, it will be good to compare. :)

Out of curiosity what made you go for that?
