Some can also take into account that you are a "new business" and that you might not have the necessary tax documents that they state they need in the T&C....at least they used to ;)

Even if you are employed full time you can still register as self employed as well with HMRC.

All it means is that you will have to do an online tax return once a year besides your normal PAYE/NI.
It's perfectly okay for you to put 'nil' in all the boxes.

Get your work place to have an open day and ask to run the tombola stall.

You can get a "one day ticket" but you might need to have a minimum spend, but your stall will be well stocked ;)

This weekend I plan to swap over my EDC rucksack to a different one that I have, which has more compartments. At the moment my EDC items just sit at the bottom of one section in a bit of a mess. I'll also be adding new food items and generally giving it a spring upgrade.

I've started cycling again this week, so I now carry my mini pump too.

My local sainsbury is great for selling stuff off cheap. I got 6 jars of red pesto for 59p each and four jars of sundried tomato paste for about the same. They were also selling off those Lloyd Grossman pasta sauce sachets for 36p each so I bought them all!

buying as much stored food as i can afford, i know interest will be rising soon

Inflation is rampant and getting out of control,

Grab as many bargains as i can now and increase my stocks, also thinking of buying as many cheap items as i can find for possible bartering, check the poundshop i saw some great deals on battery's, led wind up torches, camping kit, sewing kits, medi kits all for £1. etc, worth a look.. http://www.poundland.co.uk

If i can afford it then more diesel in 25 ltr jerry cans, ive seen predictions for £1.50 a litre by the summer !!!

get as much as you can afford

i am running out of ideas and cash so my prepping purchase is usually cheap stuff, mainly going for tins as they will last for years and survive a flood.
came across this site which apparently sells to the public sector http://evaq8.co.uk/home.php
i have allso ordered some ration packs from look what weve found. they look good but only keep for a year.

Hardly, not just yet certainly, when it is running at 27% like the 70's that is more likely "Rampant and out of control"

4% currently is only twice the normal rate, and this is mainly due to oil shortages forcing prices up and the 2.5% on VAT.

Shall we see what it is in a few months before we start the Daily Mail headlines.

Gnole - I appreciate that you do not agree with Lone Wolf here, and that's fair enough, but I do think it's rather mean spirited to make sarcastic comments towards another member, and in particular the eye rolling. That's not what we're about on UKP. Unless you were rolling your eyes AT the Daily Mail, in which case that's perfectly okay!
