Good Ol' Bow n Arrow?

I have a shot gun and a few Air guns but have just purchased a 175lb cross bow incase the gun laws do tighten up, now as we no there is no Bow hunting in the UK but nothing about pest control its very good at taking out rats,
down side is the reload time so self defense is tricky but all in all good bit of kit to have

I think you'll find pest control crosses over with hunting as far archery/crossbows are concerned, and as for self defence also currently illegal, but they are good for paper zombies stuck to a proper crossbow target with a good backstop, I got a Jaguar 175lb with a red dot sight ( well 3 red dots actually ) asides from testing at our stacked foam target, like my 60lb compound bow I'd only use it at the range, we don't have the resources to join an archery club at present, but that's what I'd do if I were you or form one if you know someone with a bit of land, these things just aren't backyard toys, but such fun that it's amazing there are so few clubs for it.

I have a bow and arrows, as well as a 22 rifle. I enjoy using them as a sport but When it comes to defending what's mine when the time comes these skills will come into their own. Hopefully I will never have to use them in a situation against others, but I will defend my family and what is mine to the end.

once it all goes TU, AVOIDING other people will be the best self preservation tactic we can employ!! keeping a low profile, hunker down or bug out, will be the order of the day. I have found that, in a long and varied life living in a city (Plymouth) its people that are the cause of problems not the solution.

I don't think many understand how big a deal it would be to get out of Plymouth ( the city centre between the rivers) and as for avoiding people, I do that now morning shopping for me as the nobs don't seem to function before noon

yep, I guess from Plymouth(if I was still living there) there are only 3 ways to go(unless you steal a boat) into Cornwall, up the A38 or onto the moors, if I was still living in Ernesettle I'd walk over the railway bridge over the creek and into Cornwall.

I think there may be one or two other options like through Plymstock and around South Devon and on foot out through the woods to the moors, no more evasive than the others in truth though.

I have a couple of recurve bows, plenty of arrows and broadheads, I also have a couple of crossbows and equally prepared. All have spare strings and wax.

In a SHTF situation, you can use them for hunting and protection, and they are very effective. However both take practice especially if a target it as a distance. They are good fun to practice with.
