Just been looking at the Wholefoods site - it looks like there are some good deals on there. I was looking at the 'sausage mix' but it doesn't have details on there. Does anyone have any experience of buying meat based dried products like this? How long will they store for? And what about if put in Mylar?? Thanks

As the one who questioned this in the begining & upset some of you I am sorry you feel I was out of line.

However in my role as a moderator on an unrelated to prepping board we have had problems with people promoting pages that require you to sign up to them in order to view the rest of the pages, such as the ones provided so far by our new friend.

If your happy to sign up to these pages then go right ahead, but we had a problem when one of the guys doing it posted so many links it got out of hand & members were receiving hundreds of spam emails as a result.

I meant no offence & I was giving my warning out of a spirit of community.

I look forward to what else is on offer but will be keeping my email address to myself if its ok with you guys.

Wingfoot I think we are all Adult enough here to figure out genuine members rather than some one trying to sell something, We have had some one trying to use this site to sell Pyramid selling schemes. He has now left. The Mods on here are very switched on and I have yet to see anyone put one past them, especially Itsy when she is in full attack mode.

I have no issue with anyone checking with me as to whether any of my posts are commercially motivated. Heck thats a natural and sensible precaution.

Where things went south on the issue is where there was no query to start with and there was an opening assumption that I was posting for self gain.

Remember..... Innocent until proven guilty.... It's a good way to manage things.

So now this is all water under the bridge.

We shall begin again.

Most suppliers I will post links to come from my endless hours searching the net for the biggest bang for pound. The reason for this is that I am prepping for quite a few people and am in no way rich.

I am using my meager Army Retirement check to slowly build up my prep. We as a family have adopted this as our hobby.


Now this is very important. (Most of the posts I will do on here about where to get stuff will be for wholesale type places.) You can make a choice as to whether you want to sign up for the site or not. I buy bulk for a reason. It makes sense.

Look I am from small town, farming community Indiana. I grew up living a lifestyle of resilience. The pantry was always full due to the reality that blizzards happen and such.

So go with me here a little.

All I want to do is share what I know and have found. It's part therapy for me.

So I will close out this thread and begin anew. I will keep my stuff in a single thread if that makes things easier.
