DIY Wood Burning AGA

Post by sfcfinchrs »

Hi All,

Well I have been a busy bee as of late.

I decided to make a wood burning AGA.

So I started with a 50cal ammo can and three 20mm ammo cans.

The 50 cal can is the firebox and is lined with firebrick. The smoke travels between the two 20mm cans so that I have a cookong oven on top and a warmer on the bottom. The smoke then enters into the third 20mm can on the side at the bottom of the can as it sits. then up to the flues in the top. This acts as a smoker.

I have done two pork joins in the oven along with cornbread so far.

looks like a great bit of kit. Nothing better than seeing your hard work come good, nicely done ;)

Great Scott!... That is a beast

Do you use the top of the firebox as a cooking surface?
Looks a good size for the kettle ;)

Hiya

No I have dispensed with the cook top on this one. Since the smoke travels between the upper and lover ovens.

I am building the separate wood burning hob at the moment.
