No need to worry about mutant enemies, zombies or any end of the world scenario. Normal life can be difficult enough
What Preps are you doing this week
Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Had fun putting my cheap tesco stuff away. They couldn't get me the cheap rice I wanted so will have to go locally for that, but all the rest of the stuff was there so if the main agency that I work through struggles with payroll again I can still keep fed. Having basic food stores worked a charm last year when I had problems with them and I know that I will be ok in case that situation happens again. The other issue is that of the bank not clearing the US dollar pay cheques as quickly as they should or could and that's been bad before, but I think I will be ok now.

Nick, my Brother stashes grub for the same reason as you. If the weather is bad he has no pay. As you say, no need to worry about zombies!

Confession time
It feels like we have been waiting to move for ages but this month we have been slowly packing up and we are hoping to be moving with in the next two weeks. The thing is that we did not want to move the food preps so for the last two months we have been living off of them we are finely coming to the end of them except for the soups that is
I finely emptied the saved water and I am now living with fingers crossed that
the zombies do not land on us.
On the plus side I am impressed on how much I had hidden away, on the minus side I really must be more organised I never realised how many battery's I had. So I am making mental lists of what I need to do to become more organised. First on my list is shelving and see through boxes.

Thanks. I'll check it out, the kids love it, making their own rat packs for camping, they get to eat the meals they want.Selfsufficient Chick wrote:Check out my post in the Food, Nutritiond Agriculture section - POST NAMED "GOOD MYLAR BAG SELLERS IN THE UK"yorkshire lad wrote:Today my foodsaver arrivedso I've been sorting through my food prepps and vac-packing rice, pasta, noodles, oats, jerky and flour, ordering some mylar bags tomorrow, this weekend I'll be checking on my stash's and doing a stealth camp to practice my concealment skills,
Does anyone have any tips or tricks, or know a good supplier for the rolls, mylar bags ect.
I listed 4 main companies 2 of which sell mylar bags and food saver vacuum rolls - my personal favourite are the 8inch x 50ft rolls that come from seller No 1. - These rolls go on forever and I have managed to get about 300 bags from one roll of various sizes. So have a look at my post and take a look at the sellers

Cupboards full now, it gives me a sense of smugness and comfort to know I can support myself and my relatives.
I can live with that.

I don't know if it is a prep or a prep for prepping but I have had my kitchen re done so my old cabinets are out in the garage to be used as storage for stuff that will survive out there. Leaving me more room in the house for more perishable stuff.
