After refining my BOB (still ongoing but getting there), I have now started on refining my car bag. Generally known as a GHB (Get home bag) which is more than an EDC but less than a BOB. The plan behind it is to be able to ditch the car if required and make my way home so in most cases I’m looking at a maximum of a couple of days travel. Despite the list the bag is light enough not to really notice it when carrying it. The Bag lives under the front seats and is a pain to get out but that also stops me dipping into it to borrow stuff. Things like the fishing line etc are just in case I am out longer than I plan and they can be used for night lines etc. There will possibly be two people so the bags contents reflects that

What footwear do you wear on a daily basis? If it's not a stout pair of trainers or boots, I would suggest you add a pair to Your GHB. Also a fleece or jumper may be a good idea.

Re: Get Home Bag
No criticism there CC, I started my GHB before i made my BOB, i pretty much have the same kit in mine as you do in yours
Couple of additional bits i always keep in the pack is the good old Paka- Mac trousers and raincoat, and good water- proof boots and socks shoved under the seat to be put on when leaving the van
I also discovered the "possibles pouch" which also lives in the van or house full time, its a kind of last chance pouch, small and basic straps around you belt, encase you lose the pack
small utility knife,
fire steel,
1 tea candle,10 matches,
button compass
4 pure tabs,
i choc bar
whiskey flask with water in it
plus a few other bits n bobs

Re: Get Home Bag
Good points WW, i have a redundant pair of walking boots I can put in the boot and MrsCC bought a pair of walking shoes from the Hawkshead sale so her older pair can go in there as well, better add some socks to go with them as well. A couple of fleeces to go under the ponchos is a good idea as well, thanks.
Re: Get Home Bag
Paka-mac trousers....good point LW. Lightweight and take up no space. Someone was selling them really cheap a little while ago but I can't remember who it was.
