Hello from the new guy.

Post by marte05 »

Greetings and salutations !
Lucian here.
First, please excuse my forum name, nut the one that I usually use appears to have been marked as spam (at least I think so).
Second, a few things about my self:
- 26 years old DIY enthusiast.
- not from the UK, but will be moving there shortly.
- my main line of work is electrical installations, domestic for now, but will move on to greater feats in the future :)
- for my hobbies, I enjoy nature walks and camping trips with my wife, watching woodworking videos (I can't wait to have my own workshop) and creating new things around the house.
- as for the prepping thing, I am expecting one of two things: either financial and social collapse due to our own nature as human beings or we transcend our current status as individuals with egocentric mentalities and learn how to work as a proper society, putting the well being of all in front of the personal gain. and I sort of expect the first thing to happen, dough I really hope for the second one from all my heart and will continue to do so for as long as I shall live :)

If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask :D

Hello and welcome what a fab intro, you will have to be sure to share any of your DIY tips with us. So where are you currently based if you are not from the UK?, where to in the UK do you plan to live?

for the next 3 months I'll be in Romania, after that, there will be a 1 month training time in Crawley, West Sussex, then I'll have 2 months to find a job in the UK, and for an extra chance, I'll apply in all the lower half of the UK :)) so, after that I'll be able to pinpoint my location more accurately. will have to choose a town that has a good hospital to, because my wife is training to become a nurse.

I sure will, but first I need to get established in the UK, after that, I'll have the resources needed to make things. They range from furniture, to electric equipment to your every-day useful things. my current projects are a king-size bed(made of 8x8 pine beams, jute string and planks) and a on-the-wall lid storage sack with pockets for each lid (made from cloth on a sewing machine). :)) can't stay put for long, or I'll go nuts, need to be constantly occupied

can't believe it's been a month ... sorry for the no-show, but I've been quite busy. I already finished the bed, could upload a few photos with the end result, totally forgot to film the process, it would have been boring at the least for some people even if I did :))
