Local Anaesthetic

Post by southernhunter »

I am in a position wherein I can get my hands on plenty of small (2.2cc) vials of local anaesthetic (legally, I might add), around 4-5 different brands, but unsure if I should or not, any opinions? Am I likely to need it, or is it more likely to get me in trouble?

if your getting it by legal means i fail to see how you can get in to trouble over it .
after having minor surgery recently , i`d rather have it and not need it than even think about a minor op with out it .
YES i walked away mid sentence , you were boring me to death and my survival instincts kick in .

If its legal to buy and legal to hold (which are sometimes different, I *think*) then why not? Is storage an issue, refrigerated or whatever? Is it a lot of money? What are your qualms? Like unsure, I've had minor surgery recently, and painkillers are right at the top of my first aid list, all the time.

Basically I can get it through work, for work. So what concerns me is the crossover between having it at work, and having it at home. When I said legally I meant from a legal source, rather than dogy dave down the pub lol

Not knowing your medical training. Make sure you know exactly what you have and how to use it. Things like lidocaine with adrenaline shouldn't be used on fingers and toes. Things like that. But i agree if you can get it keep it. You never know, especially with everything going on right now.

It's mainly Articaine based, Rexocaine, scandonest, isonest, espestin, with and without adrenaline.

In all seriousness, what are you going to need to do in an emergency situation that would utilize those types of LAs? If you're worried about legalities, or ethics, just use ethyl chloride or ice cubes instead. The local analgesic agents you suggest aren't particularly heavy duty.

To be honest, I think that i have stuff in my preps that would bring about questions but, I know i have them and lock them away, i am not expecting others to know about them and when the time does come when the S certainly does HTF i bet more than anything people are going to be grateful i stored what i stored and no questions on its legality or how i came into pocession of items will be uttered

And you've lost me

Frankly, if you know what they're for and how to use them safely then you could/should have them....... I don't, therefore I shouldn't.

Reminds me of a medical equipment website I once found, they said in no uncertain terms "If you don't know what its for, you shouldn't be buying it"
