Nuke targets?
Re: Nuke targets?
nuke's these days are a lot smaller than in the past, so the blast area would be smaller too.

So twenty or thirty 'smaller' bombs hitting the UK would be survivable?lonewolf wrote:nuke's these days are a lot smaller than in the past, so the blast area would be smaller too.

I don't know, its just that I was told(by someone who was more knowledgeable about this subject) that warheads are not the massive loads they once were and the blast area is much smaller. personally I don't see this as a possibility given M.A.D., however a small "suitcase" bomb set off by some radical terrorist is more of a threat than all out WW3.

Not sure about bombs, but I'm sure I heard that if the Sellafield site went into meltdown (I think that's the word) then the exclusion zone for England would be France.bettersafethansorry wrote:Im just wondering in the event (god forbid) of ww3 does anyone know any of the projected targets and fall out zones, and for this is there any point prepping without a nuclear bunker ? ? ?
thoughts and theory's?

Re: Nuke targets?
Oldish thread I know, but the subject came up this morning. Running the figures on a suitcase style dirty bomb attack on London came out with an interesting rule of thumb.
An attack on Westminster would take out the left half of the congestion charging zone, and an attack on the City would take out the right half, and both of those also included fallout zones which I'd expected to be bigger.
The only variable was windspeed and direction, as the fallout tail could reach out as far as Northampton.
