UK wilderness survival guide
Does anyone recommend a book, website, download or a guide to survive in the UK wilderness?

A single source?
I don't think there is
However
"Food for Free" (Collins Gem) is a good start
Most of Ray Mears' books are suited to temperate europe
I'm sure others can add something to this list

The sas survival handbook is good, and yes the food for free Colin's gem is a must have!

Would you reccomend the SAS Survival handbook over the SAS survival guide? If anyone knows about either of them?

Look up the Author, Cody Lundin. He has two books out, 'When All Hell Breaks Loose' , and 'The Art Of Keeping Your Ass Alive'.
True this is American, but Lundin runs a survival school on Arizona, and his main survival strategy is the preservation of core body temperature. He does not preach about gear, in fact he believes in doing more with less. It has shaped my thinking about "stuff " and " gear".
He is not everone's cuppa tea, but what he teaches is easily transferable to Britain. Check him out on youtube as well.

In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
Robert Frost.
Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.
Me.

I strongly reccomend Ray Mears - Outdoor survival handbook. Its packed with skills and useful snippets of info, i found alot of the plants you can use for various things grow in my garden alone, without even venturing into the fields, so its pertinent to the uk and whats in our wilds.
Im personally looking for something with the same sort of reference material but more compact so its more 'carryable' if anyone knows of something like that?
