New from Wiltshire

Post by Clan of Three Hares »

Hi,
Live in Wiltshire and Im here because the US prepper sites, good though a lot of them are, do not address problems we have here such as - its a tiny country, no bug out locations and everywhere is owned etc etc. Im interested in living off the grid where possible and doing things on a shoestring budget.
I do believe that something is going to happen, some time soon perhaps, and I dont want to be one of the ones caught short.
Most of my prepping so far is in the form of knowledge, I really don't think you can stock up on enough toilet roll to last more than a year!! :P

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I agree that knowledge is good but you need to be able to put that knowledge into practise before the shtf!

True but you can make washable bum wipes now in preparation for when you might need them! :D

Hi
Welcome
What environment do you live in? Where are you looking at living off grid?
There is loadssss of good stuff on here use the search bar and start reading but its experience of putting knowledge into practise thats the important prep
There's an Anthony Hopkins film called the edge .....ok its a bit cheesy but I love cheese :-D ...... But he plays a man with a photographic memory who after crashing in a light aircraft with a couple of others ends up leading them to safety.....and to those reading who's brains are screaming "nooooo you stay with the plane" (I know mine would be!) It crashed into a lake and sank! Lol .....any who I digress .... The man was a genius and had read EVERYTHING! There was to know about wilderness survival .....they needed to head south ...it was overcast so he makes a magnet from a pin and while the others dubiously followed, he insisted they could not go wrong as the magnetic fields do not lie...........after days of traveling they ended up where they started! ......he was holding the magnetised pin on a thread close to his body to negate the wind and it was thrown by his metal belt buckle! Oops .....have I just spoilt the film? Lol
Anyway .....why did I start warbling?....oh yes welcome and enjoy

Here and There , those should explain it all.

Because I'm on a border, I'm going to be on two Area lists
