New Member... Scotland

Post by Jodes »

Just wanted to say Hey folks,

Young(ish) guy living smaller town life N.E Scotland, been covertly reading a few Preppers forums, and thought it about time to step out of the shadows (I wouldn't not join in Convo's in real life, so guess no need here) :) Seems a really nice & knowledgeable bunch here from what I've read so far, so would be comfortable throwing out some questions when they arise.

Reason I'm mainly here is I live in a rented flat Central town, thus diminishing options of home upgrades, homesteading etc etc. Therefore, I just want to be prepared in all the other ways I can outwith these, bounce idea's off the community & see if folks have reviews/experience on particular Brands of tools/equiptment to avoid or go for. I camp, hike & snowboard so have gear, but having more or upgrading some is cool, who doesn't like buying new toys!! :)

That about it for now,
Take it easy everyone.

Hello and welcome!
There are quite a few people on this forum in rented or tempory accommodation so I am sure you'll grab some good ideas from them. Preps don't have to be big house, land and the like. A bag to grab in an emergency, store of food to see you through a couple of weeks, a camping stove and some torches and batteries is a good small start where ever you are dwelling!

Hi,

Another new(ish) member here. Been a member a while, first post (I think).

Glasgow location. Pretty amateur levels of preps (3-month food and water only).

Hoping to meet some like-minded and fairly local contacts to develop an inter-dependant network in Scotland.

New family has got me to thinking about all the things I can't do and developed a case of 'Prepper Panic' recently. Decided to take a more long-term approach and ignore the desire to buy every tin of beans I see at Asda. You know it's becoming a problem when the first think you check for is a 3-year shelf life!

Happy to PM or to keep it on the boards.

F.
